Admission and Eligibility

PhD Students are admitted on a running basis, and vacant PhD positions are announced on Linköping University's webpage for vacancies. For admission to a postgraduate studies programme, the applicant must meet general eligibility requirements through having earned second-cycle qualifications (e.g. a master’s degree) or having completed courses of at least 240 Higher Education Credits, including at least 60 HEC at the second-cycle or higher level, or the equivalent foreign education, or equivalent qualifications. You can read more about the general frameworks for admission, eligibility and selection in chapter 7, sections 39 and 40 of the Higher Education Ordinance. You are also invited to contact our Director of Postgraduate Studies for more information.
