Newsletter of The Posthumanities Network: The Next Genderation!
We would like to invite you to receive a quarterly newsletter from The Posthumanities Network: The Next Genderation (funded by the Swedish Research Council - Vetenskapsrådet). The Posthumanities Network emanates from the interdisciplinary research platform The Posthumanities Hub directed by Dr. Cecilia Åsberg at Linköping University, Sweden. The Posthumanities Hub is a centre of activity, a meeting of research interests, for inventive scholarly research, feminist networking & creative postgraduate training within a critical framework of posthumanities.
The Posthumanities Network is a network for exchanging research ideas, organise collective events and publication projects. The Hub serves as a focal point for events and activities initiated by the team on location, but this newsletter would like to extend this location to include you! Therefore, we would love to hear from you about events you are organising; seminars, conferences, exhibitions, reading groups, talks, courses etc. We’d also like to help you share your ideas for collaborative projects or research activities.
The newsletter is a space to share and exchange research ideas and organise collaborative events! We hope you will accept our invitation to expand our initiative. If you do not wish to receive the newsletter, please contact Ingvil Hellstrand. Ingvil can also be contacted for further information about subscriptions or about up-dates to our newsletter. Välkommen till Hubben!
-Våren 2012 kom en ny bok Posthumanistiska nyckeltexter (Studentlitteratur)! Vi som arbetat med den, Cecilia Åsberg, Martin Hultman och Francis Lee, hoppas den möter en en ivrig skara läsare!
-Dessutom välkomnar vi, som vanligt, gästforskare till Hubben.
-Vid Hubben kommer vi som att samordna workshops våren 2013. Du är varmt välkommen att medverka vid dessa - eller kanske till och med arbeta hos oss en kort - men inspirerande - period. Hör av dig i förväg via email till Cecilia Åsberg cecilia.asberg@liu.se Vi ser fram emot att mötas framöver!

Några av våra viktigaste händelser har varit:
-The 3rd international NM-conference: "Entanglements of new materialisms" May 23-24, 2012, hosted by The Posthumanities Hub. The conversations included Stacy Alaimo, Astrida Neimanis, Hillevi Lenz Taguchi, Tove Kjellmark (artist), Katie King, Lissa Holloway Attaway, Rick Dolphijn and many, many others.
-Invigningen The Posthumanities Hub: "Darwin Day @ Tema Genus" 10 Juni 2009. Inbjudna internationella talare: Prof. Maureen McNeil (Feminist Science Studies: Lancaster University, UK), Prof. Lynda Birke (Anthropozoology: University of Chester, UK), Prof. Pelle Jensen (Zoology, LiU, SE), Dr. Måns Andersson (Zooecology: KTH, Uppsala University, LiU, SE), Dr. Malin Ah-King (Feminist Biology: Uppsala University), Dr. Shai Mulinari (Cellbiology and Gender: Lund University).
-Doktorandtjänstutlysning våren 2009 resulterade i två nya doktorander: Magdalena Górska och Wibke Straube
-Forskarkursen "Posthumanities in Practice: Feminist Perspectives" 26-27 May, 2010. Teachers: Dr. Richard Twine, Dr. Måns Andersson och Dr. Cecilia Åsberg (co-ordinator).

Tema Genus bedriver tvär- och transdicsiplinär forskning som sätter fokus på betydelsen av genus med utgångspunkt i disciplinöverskridande teori- och metodperspektiv. Tema Genus har utbildningar på grund-, masters och forskarnivå.

Forskning vid LiU
Forskning och forskarutbildning vid Linköpings universitet bedrivs inom fyra fakulteter: Filosofiska fakulteten, Utbildningsvetenskap, Tekniska högskolan vid LiU och Hälsouniversitetet. Vid 2008 års utgång hade universitetet 315 professorer, 124 forskarassistenter, 88 postdoktorer och 1264 aktiva doktorander. Totalt publicerades under året 205 doktorsavhandlingar och 1060 vetenskapliga artiklar.
