Animating a taste for change: the re-politization of Italian feminism
Here I explore the recent emergences of feminist temporality and mobilisation in Italy after the extensive street protests 2011 of ‘Se Non Ora, Quando?’ (‘If not now, when?’) which took place during the last years of Berlusconi’s government. Seeking the voices from three different feminist activist and from three different part of Italy I wish to highlight how (Italian) feminist movements re-emerges in a neoliberal, postpolitical society, how activists mobilize and intervene and what kind of immediate interest feminist theoretical issues has to political grassroots. My overarching question is to understand how feminist movements mobilizes and reappear, exploring questions of how and when feminism is possible as political activism.
