My thesis is about smart grids. The transition to a more sustainable energy system is extensive, and I'm interested in how the future is envisioned. How do smart grids correlate to larger societal visions of for example sustainability, what are the expectations of this technology and how they are formed? I am particularly interested in households’ role in the vision of the future of energy. How can households’ role and function be understood? What requirements are imposed on households in a smart grid? Which are the household’s needs and how can these be utilized in this future energy system?
